When we set out to create a Spyderco saw we drew from our knifemaking knowledge incorporating many of our best knife features into a pocket-sized folding saw. Those features include: One-hand opening, premium blade steel, Spyderco cutting performance and a pocket clip.
For convenience the SpyderSaw has the Spyderco Round Hole allowing you to open the blade one-handedly. The AUS-6 steel blade has toothy dual level serrations off-set on both sides of the blade providing excellent bite and tear. Integrated into the FRN handle is a tip-up positioned pocket clip and a back lock with a David Boye Dent in the lock release lever. The Boye Dent is a refined safety feature, helping eliminate unintentional release of the lock if you're gripping the handle tightly. The SpyderSaw is intended for sawing wood, bone and fibrous materials, making it a useful tool for campers, paddlers, hunters, and for pruning, and yard chores.

Profile Set 701MF £64       BIG PIC » BUY
click for big picThe world is full of companies manufacturing sharpening stones designed for outdoor use. Years ago Spyderco introduced an eight-inch stone in either fine or medium grit unequivocally designed for the field and range called the 701 Profile. 701MF stones are made of High Alumina Ceramic. A medium grit (brown) stone sharpens very dull edges. A fine grit (white) stone adds a finishing touch for a professional, finely-honed edge. Both stones are used dry without oil or water lubrication making them convenient and mess-free. Elliptical in shape, the Outdoor Profile stones have four distinct sharpening surfaces suitable for plain and serrated edges, shop tools and household items. They provide: A flat surface and large radius for PlainEdges, a small radius for SpyderEdges and a groove running the length of the stones for sharpening pointed objects like fishhooks, awls and darts.

Ceramic Files 400F £41       BIG PIC »   BUY

click for big picJewelers, gunsmiths and dental professionals all at some time have a need for small sharpening stones. Spyderco's 400F Ceramic Files include the following shapes: Round, square, triangular, and slip. All four stones are fine-grit ready to debur hardened molds, even carbide. Sold as a set of four, packaged in a snap-front suede pouch. Clean with a plastic souring pad and powdered abrasive cleanser. They are autoclave safe.

Triangle Sharpener Set 204 £60       BIG PIC » BUY
click for big pic Chances are you've heard it said "a sharp knife is safer than a dull one". We believe this quote originated from first hand experience and find it to be true. The Sharpmaker was Spyderco's first product, which we made and sold before getting into the knife business. It's true -- First we made things sharp, then we made sharp things.
The Tri-Angle Sharpmaker includes two sets of high alumina ceramic stones: A pair of medium-grit (brown) stones for aggressive sharpening and a set of fine (white) stones for professional grade finishing. The stones are triangular for sharpening Plainedges on the flat sides and SpyderEdges (serrations) on the corners. A furrow running the length of each stone lets you sharpen pointed items like fishhooks, darts and awls. Included is a set of brass safety rods protecting the users hands while sharpening. All components snap into the self-contained ABS plastic base and lid -- ready to travel with you. Die-cut into the base are keyed slots and holes fitted for the stones. They accurately set the stone's sharpening angle at a 30° (15° each side) or 40° (20° each side) for knives and a 12.5° scissor setting. Turn the base over, a channel lets you lay two stones side-by-side (flat-side up) for use as a benchstone. The lid snaps halfway over the base creating a handhold for stability while you're sharpening. Included is a set of brass safety rods to protect the users hands while sharpening. Ceramic stones, like glass, will break if dropped -- handle carefully. Use them dry, without oil, water or lubricants. To clean: scrub stones with a plastic scouring pad and powered abrasive cleaner, let air-dry. Also autoclave safe. System comes with instruction book and video (VHS, PAL or SECAM).

The Spyderco Story £45         BUY

The Spyderco StoryDiscover the history and inner workings of Spyderco whose design innovations have redefined the shape of the modern folding knife and taken high-performance cutting to a new level. Find out how Spyderco's odd-shaped knives with the hole and the hump in the blade made opening and carry knives more efficient, as well as how individual models have met the specialized needs of EMTs, police officers, hunters, soldiers, survivalists and more. Each product is covered in detail -- from CLIPIT folders and fixed-blade knives to custom collaborations to sharpeners -- including how it was developed and why, what real-life problem it solved and design elements that make it unique. The author Ken Delavigne also explores the technical frontiers where Spyderco has made so many inroads and previews what's new on the drawing board yet to come. Finally, he offers insight into the uncommon business philosophy and management style that have allowed Spyderco to achieve such legendary success. 81/2" X 11", hardcover, photos, illustrations, 312 pages ISBN1581600607.
